About
I’m Brandon Petty, a web designer and developer from Charleston, West Virginia. I was born on Christmas Eve 1985. Not the most ideal birthday, but something I really didn’t have much control over. After 23 years I’ve gotten used to getting birthday presents wrapped in Christmas paper. I’ve stayed within the Charleston area, which I can’t complain about. The area however does lack certain artistic culture that I quickly found myself interested in.
In early 2004 on a spur-of-the-moment decision I joined the United States Air Force. This choice presented me with some benefits that I wouldn’t have otherwise seen. For one, I got to travel… I’ve seen some of the greater parts of Texas and Mississippi. I also obtained some great training in Computer Systems Administration and Logistics Personal & Cargo Movement. I’ve found myself shying away from both of those career areas in my regular day-to-day life. After serving 5 years in the USAF; I decided not to extend my current contact and take my leave from the armed services.
Now for the reason you’re really here (unless you’re a stalker — in which case you’re eating this information up). One of my earliest memories in life is my mother bringing home a computer from her office. This laptop had one of the most marvelous things I had ever seen. It was… FrontPage Express 95. Ever since then I have been obsessed with all things web, design, and development. Almost everything I know about creating objects in these environments have been self taught. Over the past few years I’ve attended Marshall University on and off. I quickly learned a degree was not needed to pursue a career path in web development. Possibly one day I will return to finish my degree, but for now… I’m doing what I can with what I have.
